Having a professional photographer take your engagement portrait is important. It can be a great way to get comfortable being photographed with your soon-to-be spouse, and it’s also a great way to get to know your photographer. If you enjoy working with your photographer and you like the engagement portraits, chances are good you’ve found the right photographer for your wedding!
But there’s more to it than that! An engagement portrait session allows the photographer to observe the two of you being yourselves: the way you interact with each other- the little looks you give one another…learning who you really are allows a professional photographer to portray you in a natural way that makes you look your best. A great engagement portrait shows your personality, brings out your best qualities and hides your weak points. (Yes, most people believe they have maybe one or two…).
A professional photographer can advise you on hair, make-up, clothing and poses: all the things that affect how you look in photos. Everyone has a “good side”, and a pro will find it and make the most of it! If you’re engaged, you should schedule a portrait session soon! Fall is a very popular time for engagement portraits, and with good reason. Fall colors can add beauty to an outdoor portrait, cooler weather means you’re not over-heated, and fall clothing is often more flattering than summer clothes.
The first three weeks of October are usually best for fall colors, so call today!! (248) 987-4407
Just like everything else, Commercial Photography and Business Portraits are changing. There is still a place for classic, traditional studio portraits. A classic studio portrait will stand the test of time and never look dated or like a trend that has come and gone. And, a skilled studio photographer can use lighting and posing to bring out the best in subjects, while minimizing features we may not love about ourselves!
If I had a dollar for every time someone asked “can you make me look ten years younger and 12 pounders lighter?”, I’d be writing this blog from Aruba.
We photograph lots of businesses: some small and some very large. Everything from realtors, lawyers, Doctors offices and staff, to car dealerships, architectural design firms to large service providers like Foundation Systems of Michigan. Foundation Systems of Michigan has earned a great reputation fixing anything to do with basements and foundations. They’ve grown a lot in the past few years and are continuing to expand. As a part of that growth, they’ve asked us to provide new photographs for their website and we’re excited to be a part of it. Last week, I took my first ride on the forks of a “Hi-Lo” (forklift). It was fun and the high camera position gave an interesting perspective to a casual group shot of some of the FSM employees. Take a look at the video here.
We also used green screen technology and some pretty creative Photoshop work to create a really great look for the individual employee shots. It’s a lot of fun and the next interesting challenge is right around the corner.
Between our photographic skills and the ever advancing technology available, who knows what we’ll create next?
